Who can join a student association at Rennes?
Student associations are open exclusively to students in PGE1, AST1, and AST2. Participation is part of the academic curriculum: it's graded, credited, and supervised by a dedicated staff team from the Learner Engagement department.
Is it mandatory?
Yes – if you're in PGE1 or AST1, you must participate for one full academic year. If you're in AST2, association participation is mandatory for one semester.
What types of associations exist?
There are five major categories of student associations at RSB:
- Business
- Sports & Adventure
- Arts & Culture
- Social & Humanitarian
- Student Life
Can I create a new association?
Yes! Students can propose the creation of a new association. To do this, contact the Learner Engagement team, fill out a proposal form, and present your project to the Association Committee.
Are there any required trainings?
Yes. Every student involved in an association must complete a mandatory training on preventing sexist and sexual violence, to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
What support is available?
Staff provide ongoing support, training sessions, learning modules, and coaching to help you grow professionally and personally through your engagement.
Is there a student association for Bachelor students?
Yes, Bachelor students can join a separate, non-credited and non-graded association called the BVE. It's focused on campus life and collective experiences, offering a great way to get involved, meet people, and build event management skills.
