The House Council elections are officially open!
Each House is led by a team of elected students who represent their House, coordinate projects, organize events and challenges, and help bring House life to the next level throughout the academic year.
Joining your House Council is a great opportunity to get involved in student life, develop new skills, meet students from different programmes and campuses, take responsibility, and contribute directly to your House community.
Being part of the House Council means taking on a real role within your House — but also having the opportunity to lead, create, collaborate and make an impact.
You may apply for one or several positions through the same application form. However, each student can ultimately be elected to one House Council position only, for one academic year.
🌟 House Council Positions
House Captain
The House Captain is the main student leader and representative of the House.
Working closely with the other members of the House Council, the Captain helps define the House's direction and priorities throughout the year, coordinates the Council and represents the House within Rennes School of Business.
The House Captain is expected to:
- Lead and coordinate the House Council;
- Help define the House's objectives and priorities for the year;
- Encourage collaboration between Council members;
- Represent the House during key events, meetings and official moments;
- Mobilize and inspire House members;
- Support the organization of House events and challenges;
- Ensure that projects move forward and that responsibilities are shared effectively;
- Maintain strong communication with RSB teams and the other Houses;
- Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging House culture.
The role requires leadership, reliability, communication skills and the ability to bring people together.
House Captain candidates will also take part in an interview with the election jury as part of the election process.
Vice-Captain
The Vice-Captain works closely with the House Captain and helps coordinate the House Council and its activities.
They play an important role in ensuring continuity, collaboration and effective organization across the House.
The Vice-Captain is expected to:
- Support the House Captain in coordinating the Council;
- Help follow up on projects, events and challenges;
- Facilitate communication between Council members;
- Support teams when additional coordination is needed;
- Help mobilize House members and encourage participation;
- Represent the House when necessary;
- Contribute actively to the development of new House initiatives.
The Vice-Captain should be proactive, organized, collaborative and comfortable taking responsibility.
Treasurer & Secretary
The Treasurer & Secretary oversees both the financial and administrative organization of the House.
This role is essential to ensuring that House projects are well prepared, properly documented and financially sustainable.
The Treasurer & Secretary is expected to:
- Monitor the House budget and expenses;
- Support budget planning for activities and events;
- Keep clear financial records;
- Ensure that expenses and financial requests follow RSB procedures;
- Prepare and maintain key House documents;
- Take notes during Council meetings when required;
- Help monitor actions, decisions and deadlines;
- Support the administrative organization of House projects.
This position is particularly suited to students who are organized, rigorous, reliable and comfortable managing information and budgets.
Treasurer & Secretary Helper
The Treasurer & Secretary Helper supports the Treasurer & Secretary in the financial and administrative management of the House.
This is a hands-on role that allows you to contribute to many different House projects while developing organizational and project-management skills.
The Helper may:
- Assist with budget monitoring and expense tracking;
- Help prepare documents and administrative information;
- Support meeting preparation and follow-up;
- Help keep track of deadlines and actions;
- Support the organization of House events and projects;
- Step in where additional administrative or logistical support is required.
This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, organized, willing to learn and ready to support the team wherever needed.
Communication Coordinator
The Communication Coordinator is responsible for developing and coordinating the House's communication throughout the year.
Their objective is to make House life visible, engaging and accessible to all members.
The Communication Coordinator is expected to:
- Promote House events, activities and challenges;
- Create engaging communication content;
- Help develop the identity and visibility of the House;
- Share important information with House members;
- Coordinate communication across the House's different channels;
- Highlight House achievements, projects and members;
- Work closely with the rest of the Council to support participation in activities;
- Ensure communication remains clear, inclusive and aligned with RSB guidelines.
This position is well suited to students who are creative, communicative, comfortable with digital tools and interested in content creation, social media or community engagement.
Communication Coordinator Helper
The Communication Coordinator Helper works alongside the Communication Coordinator to promote House activities and engage the community.
They may contribute to:
- Creating visuals, videos and other communication content;
- Covering House events and challenges;
- Writing posts, announcements and event communications;
- Taking photos or producing short-form content;
- Sharing information across House communication channels;
- Brainstorming creative campaigns and content ideas;
- Supporting communication before, during and after events.
This role is ideal for students who want to develop communication skills, express their creativity and contribute actively to House visibility and engagement.
Paris Delegate
The Paris Delegate is the main House Council representative for the Paris campus.
They play a key role in ensuring that students in Paris are fully involved in House life and that House activities are developed across both campuses.
The Paris Delegate is expected to:
- Represent their House on the Paris campus;
- Encourage Paris students to participate in House activities and challenges;
- Support or coordinate House events taking place in Paris;
- Communicate House information to Paris-based members;
- Bring ideas, feedback and needs from the Paris campus to the House Council;
- Work closely with the Captain and the rest of the Council;
- Help strengthen connections between the Rennes and Paris House communities.
📣 This position is reserved for students studying on the Paris campus.
📢 Who Can Apply?
House Council positions are open to eligible RSB students from both Rennes and Paris campuses, across Bachelor and Master programmes.
Students from different programmes, nationalities and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The objective of each House Council is to bring together students with different experiences, skills and perspectives.

Even if you do not apply for a Council position, you are still an important part of your House. Throughout the year, all House members will have opportunities to participate in events, challenges, projects and initiatives according to their interests and availability.
🎥 How to Apply
To apply, please upload a short video presentation in English.
Your video should:
- Be no longer than 1 minute 30 seconds;
- Be recorded in English;
- Introduce yourself: your name, programme, campus and House;
- State the position or positions you are applying for;
- Explain your motivation;
- Tell us what you would bring to your House and its Council.
You may apply for several positions through the same application form.
There is no need for an overly formal or highly produced video. We mainly want to understand who you are, why you want to get involved and what you could bring to your House.

🎤 House Captain interviews: Candidates applying for the House Captain position will also take part in an interview with the election jury as part of the selection process.
🗳️ How Does the Election Work?
The final result for each position will be based on:
50% — House members' votes
50% — Jury assessment
The jury will be composed of RSB staff members and former House Captains.
The jury assessment will take into account elements such as the candidate's motivation, understanding of the role, ideas for their House, ability to collaborate and commitment to House life.
This process allows House members to choose their representatives while also ensuring that candidates are ready to take on the responsibilities associated with their role.
