COVID Isolation Rules

If you have symptoms of Covid

As soon as symptoms appear (fever or feeling of fever, coughing, headache, sore throat, unusual tiredness, diarrhoea...), you must:

• immediately perform an antigenic test (if the test is positive, a confirmatory RT-PCR test is required) or an RT-PCR, regardless of your vaccine status, history of infection or risk contact status;
• isolate yourself while waiting for the result and respect the barrier gestures when interacting with others;
• prepare a list of people you have been in contact with within 48 hours of the date of the onset of symptoms (people living under the same roof, friends, colleagues sharing your office...);
• telework whenever possible.

While waiting for the test result, you are considered a confirmed case and must therefore remain isolated in order to protect those around you.

Testing positive if you are fully vaccinated or as a child under 12 years of age

Persons who test positive with a complete vaccination plan and children under 12 years of age who test positive, regardless of their vaccination status, must:

• isolate yourself strictly for 7 full days from the date on which the symptoms begin or the date on which you first tested positive;
• perform an antigenic test or an RT-PCR test on the 5th day after testing positive:
  
  • if the test is negative and if symptoms have not been present for 48 hours, you can stop isolating after 5 days;
  • if the test is positive or if there is no test on the 5th day, you must continue to self-isolate until the 7th day, with no new test to be performed after the isolation.
  • STUDENTS: send your official test to the school - upload it through your WebRise. You will be marked absent.

It is important to monitor your health during this period and to contact your doctor in case of worsening symptoms or unusual symptoms. If you have difficulty breathing, call 15 or 114 immediately for the deaf or hard of hearing.

Testing positive if you have no vaccinations or have not been fully vaccinated 

Persons who are not vaccinated or who have an incomplete vaccination plan (top-up vaccinations not completed) must:

• self-isolate strictly for 10 days maximum after the start date of the symptoms or the date on which you tested positive;
• perform an antigenic test or an RT-PCR on the 7th day after the date of the start of the symptoms or the date on which you tested positive:
  
  • if the test is negative and there have been no symptoms for 48 hours, isolation can be ended on the 7th day
  • if the test is positive or if no test is performed, isolation must be continued until the 10th day without a new test being performed.

If you still have a temperature at the end of isolation, it is preferable to contact your doctor. Indeed, it is better to wait 48 hours for the fever to disappear before ending your isolation.

Monitor your health and contact your doctor in case of worsening unusual signs or symptoms.

In case of difficulty breathing, call 15 (or 114 for deaf or hard-of-hearing people) immediately.
