HOW DOES THE UNIVERSITY ALLOCATION PROCESS WORK?
Universities are allocated according to a ranking which is based on your academic results. Depending on the classification of students, the OFL takes place in several waves of allocation:
- Wave 1: students classified from 1 to 120 make their choices first
- Wave 2: students classified from 121 to the end make their choices after
(exact dates of the allocations waves sent by email sent in early December)
How do I make my selection?
Online, via an Online Training Offer (OFL) accessible on your RISE account. If you wish to know more about the instructions, you can refer to "Exchange abroad > Allocation process information" tab on the RISE platform.
How many choices can I make?
You can make between 9 and 12 choices, in order of preference.
How can I decide which semester I want to go on exchange?
During your UP selection OFL, on RISE, you will see these options (here as an example):
- University_X_S5 (this choice means you wish to go to the University X for semester 5)
- University_X_S6 (this choice means you wish to go to the University X for semester 6)
- University_X_1 year (this choice means you wish to go to the University X for the full year S5+S6)
- University_X_1 year double degree (this choice means you wish to go to the University X for the full year S5+S6 for a Double Degree)
How are allocations carried out?
Based on your ranking, we look at your 1st choice. If it is available, then you are assigned to the corresponding university. If there are no more places left for your 1st choice of university, the 2nd choice will be considered, then the 3rd choice etc., up until your 12th choice, if necessary.
If none of your choices are available, the allocation process is stopped and you are contacted by our team to make an additional choice among the available universities within 24 hours. You keep your place in the ranking anyway.
When will I know which university I am assigned to?
The results of the Partner University allocations are communicated within 3 days of the closure of the OFL.
I am not in Wave 1. How will I know which slots in which partner universities are still available?
After wave 1, we will publish an updated University Placement Offer with the remaining slots available for wave 2. You will therefore be able to make your University selection referring to this updated University Placement Offer.
