WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO COMPLETE MY “EXCHANGE ABROAD” PROFILE?
In order to allocate you a university, we must first verify the compatibility of your profile with the prerequisites of our partner universities (passport validity, language tests, GPA). Through the OFL, you will have access to all the universities for which your profile meets the admission conditions. Therefore, it is important that you prepare carefully your profile with valid information in order to get access to a large number of universities.
How can I access universities outside of Europe?
You must submit on your RISE account a copy of your valid passport via the "Exchange Abroad > My passport" tab (which must be valid for the entire duration of your exchange + at least 6 months after the end of your exchange in order to avoid any administrative problems with embassies) and fill in the requested data.
If I choose to carry out my exchange in Europe?
You do not need to provide a passport, instead, select the “No, I want to stay in Europe (except UK where a passport is required)” field, in the "Exchange abroad" tab. Don’t forget to make sure that your identity card is valid for the duration of your exchange.
Do I have to take language tests?
Some universities require an official language test as a prerequisite for admission. If you wish to submit test results (TOEIC/TOEFL IBT/IELTS type) as part of the university allocation process, you must have submitted your valid test results on RISE via "Exchange Abroad > My language certificate" tab before 31st December (BiM2 year).
Is there a deadline for completing my Exchange abroad profile?
You must complete your “Exchange abroad” profile on RISE before 31st December (BiM2 year).
HOW IS THE UNIVERSITY SELECTION PROCESS CARRIED OUT?
When should I select my universities?
You will make your university selection by January, during your IBPM2. You will receive the exact dates by email.
How do I make my selection?
You will make it via an Online Training Offer (OFL) accessible on your RISE account.
How many universities should I choose?
You can choose between 9 and 12 universities, in order of preference.
What do I need to do before selecting the universities that interest me?
You must complete your “Exchange abroad” profile on RISE.
IN WHICH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES CAN I CARRY OUT MY EXCHANGE?
During your OFL, you have access to all of the Partner Universities for which your profile meets the admission requirements. With our 350 academic partners, we strive to offer you widest possible choice of exchange destinations. You will thus have access to many countries even if all the universities within each country will not be accessible, in order to maintain equity between all programmes.
When will I find out about the University Placement Offer?
The University Placement Offer, with the universities available for a departure in semester 5, semester 6 or semesters 5 and 6 (full year), is available by mid-December (BiM2 year).
How can I know about the language prerequisites required by the partner universites?
In the meantime, you can find more information here (Drive link IBPM3 - Drive Exchange) about the range of Partner Universities available in previous years, to give you an idea of the possible destinations and the prerequisites requested by the partner universities (⚠These documents are provided for information purposes only as they may change from one year to the next. Note that for departures in 2021/22 the language requirements have been specifically adjusted due to Covid, so they are likely to be more numerous for departures in 2022/23). We also recommend that you have a look at the universities' fact sheet for more specific information related to the academic program, VISA, accommodation, cost of life, etc...
WHAT ABOUT MY RANKING?
The ranking, for a departure abroad, is published at the end of October. You will be informed by email. It is based on your GPA score before re-sits of your BIM1 year.
