DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE AN EXCHANGE?
Yes, all PGE2 students must complete an exchange.
WHEN DO I HAVE TO GO ON EXCHANGE?
There are 4 different possibilities:
- Exchange in semester 3 (1st semester of PGE2)
- Exchange in semester 4 (2nd semester of PGE2)
- Exchange in semester 3 (1st semester of PGE2) + Double Degree of PGE3 for the double-degree abroad
- Exchange in semester 5 (1st semester of PGE3) Work study pathway - RPI (2 years)
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO COMPLETE MY “EXCHANGE ABROAD” PROFILE?
In order to allocate you a university, we must first verify the compatibility of your profile with the prerequisites of our partner universities (passport validity, language tests, GPA). It is your responsibility to make sure that you are eligible for the Partner Universities you intend to apply for. Through the OFL, you will have access to all the universities for which your profile meets the admission conditions.
Do I need to upload a valid passport?
If you wish to access universities outside of Europe, then, it is compulsory to submit on your RISE account a copy of your valid passport (which is valid for the entire duration of your exchange + at least 6 months after the end of your exchange in order to avoid any administrative problems with embassies).
Where to upload my valid passport?
Connect to your RISE account and click on the menu "Exchange Abroad > My passport". Upload your passport and fill in the requested data.
If I choose to carry out my exchange in Europe?
You do not need to provide a passport, instead, select the “No, I want to go to Europe” field. Don’t forget to make sure that your identity card is valid for the duration of your exchange. ⚠ This answer does not apply to students who choose a double-degree abroad (full year of PGE3), for which a valid passport is a condition of admission.
I am a non-European student. Do I need a visa to study in another European country?
Yes, indeed, you will need to apply for another student visa.
Do I have to take an English language test?
Some universities require an official language test as a prerequisite for admission. If you wish to submit test results (TOEIC/TOEFL iBT/IELTS type) as part of the university allocation process, you must have submitted your valid test results on RISE via "Exchange Abroad > My language certificate" tab before the deadline corresponding to your pathway (see below).
Regarding LV2, what is my level?
Some universities require a minimum level in LV2 as a prerequisite for admission. Your LV2 level is justified either by:
- Your LV2 results in Rennes SB (grade A=C1, grade B-C=B2, grade D-E=B1)
- A specific LV2 official language test

IN WHICH PARTNER UNIVERSITIES CAN I CARRY OUT MY EXCHANGE?
During your OFL, you have access to all of the Partner Universities for which your profile meets the admission requirements. With our 350 academic partners, we strive to offer you the widest possible choice of exchange destinations. You will thus have access to many countries even if all the universities within each country will not be accessible, in order to maintain equity between all programmes.
The Partner Universities list that will be accessible for your specific programme and cohort will be sent by email via the University Placement Offer (UPO) when ready.
